The Awakening Little River – Miami’s Underdog

You are invited to join OnlyTitiKnows for a curated walkthrough of Little River — a community which became established between 1850 – 1860, long before the City of Miami became incorporated in 1896 yet has remained under the radar to most residents and visitors for over a century.

Consisting of contemporary art galleries, boutique shops, and eateries that are culturally relevant to Miami, it is no coincidence that Little River was chosen by Time Out magazine as one of the 38 coolest neighborhoods in the world!

Over the course of approximately 3.5 hours, we’ll take a deep dive into one of the city’s most intriguing areas. A place where history, entrepreneurial spirit, and design come together to create one of the most accurate reflections of present day Miami.

As our experience is led by creatives, you will receive a glimpse behind the scenes of the local art scene in Little River.

We begin our tour at a biophilic showroom with a bit of background on Little River’s history. As we explore 6 blocks of NE 2nd Avenue, we’ll move between the old and the new through a design-focused lens. 

You can expect to browse through urban treasure coves of vintage goods, view artisanal home décor, learn about street art, visit galleries, and partake in food tastings as a group. Enjoying what this robust neighborhood has to offer would not be complete without fueling up on locally made treats along the way!

    The meeting point will be confirmed in the registration email.

    On foot, 3.5 hours long – comfortable shoes and sunscreen are recommended.

    Please arrive 10-15 minutes early as we will depart on time.

    Aside from the included tastings, any additional treats must be paid for out of pocket directly to local businesses.

    Before you join the tour, here are some frequently asked questions that may help you
    understand if it’s right for you.

    Absolutely not! We believe artists, designers, and creatives will especially enjoy it, but this is an experience tailored for anyone curious about history, visual arts, and culture. OnlyTitiKnows allows participants to become familiar with Miami from a unique angle.

    The tour is intended for ages 15+ and is especially fitting for those of us who enjoy listening, asking questions, and learning through the stories of community members, locally-ran spaces and design.

    Babies and children in strollers up to age 5 are free of charge (please note: our route includes entry into small spaces – you may have to wait outside or remove your child from the stroller at times).

    Children up to age 12 – $50 (the tour is not ideal for young, overly energetic children. Children who are curious and mature are more than welcomed to attend).

    Ages 12+ – $139  (full price).

    Our tour is curated for an inquisitive, culture-loving audience. Our Little River walkthrough is especially suitable for adults and teenagers who are interested in learning more about Miami through an artistic perspective.

    Absolutely! Aside from the 2 food samplings included upon registration, there are planned stopping points for coffee and pastries (directly paid to local businesses by participants).

    There will be short breaks along the way to use the bathroom, freshen up, and enjoy some cold air conditioning!

    If we encounter a light rain or drizzle, our tour will resume as planned. Miami’s weather can be unpredictable at times, this is part of the experience!

    If we run into heavy rain, a tropical storm, or any warning for dangerous weather conditions, the tour will be canceled and participants will be refunded.

    100%! Little River has lots of great spots. Food halls, local cafes, and full service restaurants are part of what makes this neighborhood so enjoyable. Feel free to ask us for recommendations once the tour is over.

    Participants who drive to the meeting point should expect to pay for parking on the street. Parking and vehicle registration can be done on the ParkMobile or PayByPhone apps on a mobile device. There is typically convenient parking near the meeting point, however it is not 100%  guaranteed which is why it’s a good idea to arrive a few minutes early!

    Uber is a great option as well if you’d like to avoid finding and paying for parking.

    Participants can expect to walk about 2 miles throughout the course of 3.5 hours with stops along the way.

    To keep things easy and comfortable during the tour, we recommend arriving with a small bag and leaving bulky bags in your car. Since we’ll be walking and entering some tighter spaces, traveling light helps everyone move around comfortably.

    At the beginning of the tour, you'll receive a tote bag, a bottle of water, and a personal pack of wipes, so you'll have a convenient place to carry small personal items like your phone, sunglasses, and other essentials.
